My understanding of ethical values have come a long way, I was raised by a religious family who’s attended to church every Sunday. My parents tough me values in life that I thought they were standard and every person in the world was living their live according to them. Values like: respect, kindness, love, among others. These values where introduced and proven to me every day at home and with my families. As I was going up I didn’t understand why there was so many different people and, different religions and, why so many people acted so much different than my family. that’s when I started to educate myself about the difference in people in society. Countries depending on their status, reputation, population, political and governmental styles. They change drastically on what they think is ethical and does not necessarily represent what I was tough as a kid, for instance when I went to school and I learned how people from one race was treating other from different race I couldn’t understand how or why this happened. Fast-forwarding to now, I don’t consider myself religious even though I still carry the values I was tough as a child, I can’t call myself religious now that I see all the bad thing that happens and has happened in the name of religion. Even though I still believe that there is a God, the whole idea has change for me, now I’m a follower of science. This is a system that I can relate to, it is not perfect but it’s always in the process of improve its self, science has been wrong many times but every time it has proven to be wrong it uses that information to be better.
