Examples Of Environmental Racism

The environment people live in affects their live daily. Some people have gotten very sick and also died from the polluted air and the government doesn’t care nor do the rich. The government has placed toxic in blacks and Hispanic neighborhood. Environmental racism is something that all people are not getting treated fairly with every day and as long as the government has power they will continue to do this. Environmental racism takes shape in different ways. For example, in article 1 (pg.1 p.9) "he found blacks over represented in areas with toxins, hazardous waste storage facilities and savage treatment plants." They are moving blacks into toxic areas, this shows that environmental racism comes in different ways. Also in article 1 (pg.1 p.1) “separate residential limits or districts for white and Negro residents." This shows that U.S. minorities have been placed in separate areas for a long time and also shows that environmental racism takes up shape in different ways. Also stated in the article (pg.1 p.9) “In Pensacola, a super fund site abuts a play area where most of the children are black.” This emphasizes that they can harm black children and continue the environmental racism but shape it in a different way. This shows that garbage dumps and toxic waste sites that nobody want tend to end up being in black Harlem
