The story of Anthem is extremely devious story. It shows numerous of sneaky ways to show that it is a dystopia. Equality is one of five people that knows this is a dystopia. He tries to figure this out each and everyday
Equality shows that anthem is a dystopia many times. Equality writes in his journal “our body was not like the bodies of our brothers” (Rand80). This shows how this is a part of a dystopia because of how his brothers act. They are very slumped and lazy in how they move. Which relates to a dystopia in a collectivist society like this one it is forbidden to be curious and ask questions to find out more like Equality does.
In Anthem the government is controlling. No men are allowed to speak for themselves at all. This can be seen when Collective says “how dare you think that your mind held greater wisdom than the mind of your brothers” (Rand71) this shows that the government controls the minds of everybody, which can be related back by the government usually dominating the dystopian world in most cases.

The book shows how/what a dystopia truly looks like. Even though the characters are living inside of a collectivist state they still have a part of them that still knows this is not correct at all. At the end Liberty and Equality both break out of the hell hole of society and break into something never seen in a hundred or more years’ individualism which is what they were trying to get to all along and is the main point of the book and their main part of their life
