For equal pay, or even pay at all, Africans were not able to get a job. There was specified places for African Americans to go, and if they went somewhere they were banned from, they would be arrested. Like regular white folks, they were not able to get a good paying, high class job. African Americans were not allowed to marry or associate with white folks.
