Introduction: According to Merriam-Webstera.com, “Determinisms Theory or Doctrine that acts of the will, occurrences in nature, or social or psychological phenomena are causally determined by preceding events or natural laws”. I can understand with agreeing with that the free will and determinism are similarly compatibilities, even when we take free will to require the ability to do otherwise and even when we interpret that ability, as the possibility of doing otherwise. However, in times we are not able to control our actions depending on the situation or mental state. Wanting to live is a will and at a time for many of use that is very hard. Another case comes to mind "A Rape on Campus” based on the University of Virginia, which turned out to be hoax done threw a writing on Rolling Stones Magazine. The victim's name was "Jackie", Jackie was a girl who wanted to be liked by a boy who was just a friend but she wanted more. During the course of a semester, she came out with a story that she was rapped on boys at a fraternity on campus. We as people do have the option of control ourselves in certain situations, but in others, we cannot, especially in a medical issue. Going back to the first statement of the easy, Bernadette did not to some point did not truly think she was going go through the act of a murder. She like Jackie just wanted to be liked by others, to fit in with the coward of people around them. But Bernadette broke the rule of not thinking of “the what if “question. The cops caught her within six months of the murder, she lived everyday knowledge of the kind of hurt she causes a family.
