Can deception ever be good for a relationship? There are many examples of deception in Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. Claudio and Hero are married though deception and so are Benedict and Beatrice. Deception sometimes even causes death. Marriage and deception are commonly found together.
Claudio is not brave enough to go woo Hero. He has Don Pedro go and do it for him. Then Antonio; Leonato’s brother overhears Claudio talking to Don Pedro talking about his love for Hero and he thinks that Don Pedro is in love with Hero. He then tells Leonato this news and Leonato says “. . . I will acquaint my daughter withal, that she may be the better prepared for an answer if peradventure this be true. Then they are told that there are love letters written to each other and then they fall in love again.
