The Wild Beast by Peter Mass is a harsh reality into the world of human cruelty. This passage is very sinister because all of the horrendous things were done by humans. It was like these humans were animals because they did not have morals or a conscience. I also noticed the author didn’t seem to want to believe any of the refuges stories. “I wrote it down in my notebook but I didn’t believe it (Maass 474).”…

Many will argue that “Call of the Wild” is a good book and is useful for a quick read. However, I have come to the conclusion that “Call of the Wild” should be banned from our 8th grade English curriculum. The book “Call of the Wild,” contains a false view of Indians, no literary value, and contains content which isn’t appropriate for our age. My first reason which proves that “Call of the Wild” should be banned from our 8th grade curriculum is the false perception it has created on Indians. In “Call of the Wild,” there is a group of indians called the Yeehat Indians.…

What is cruel? Karma for the guy who cut you off on the interstate, or maybe sound judgment for the serial killer who is being accused of 13 murders, or maybe it's divine judgment for those who are truly wicked and are deserving of retribution through the actions of fate. No, cruelty goes way deeper and is much more dark and sadistic. Animal cruelty, that thirty-two dollar lipstick that you splurged on at Sephora, or that "firm" hairspray that you got from Walmart have most likely been tested on a poor defenseless animal.
