Courage helps people overcome obstacles in their life, while fear is what makes those obstacles harder to face. In reality, courage is when a person is not afraid to face their fears and pursue their goals no matter what. In order for a person to be truly courageous, they have to do things that others are not willing to do. Ender Wiggin shows his courage by standing up for himself and by going against the rules.

A person who stands up for themselves is courageous because they won’t let anyone cause harm to them. In the book, when Stilson and his friends came to Ender to beat him up, Ender stood up for himself by taking Stilson to the ground and continuously kicking him (Card 7). This shows that he is truly courageous because even after taking
