Language can hinder many children from learning correctly in the counties they live in. For example, here in the Unites States, the main language is English. Many Hispanic children are enrolled in school with Spanish being their main language. When they attend school, they have hard time learning because they first have to learn the meaning of the words before they can learn the curriculum. As for myself, growing up I was surrounded by my uncles and aunts that spoke English very well. They too are from Mexico but were brought at a young age that they learned the language quickly. My mother entered the country in her late twenties and went straight to work not having enough time to properly learn the language. As I grew up, my relatives would speak to me in English helping me understand the language, preparing me for school.

For example, many of the good healthy foods are pricier than the fatty foods. Families with low incomes find it harder to be able to afford good quality food especially if they have to support families with many members. Also, I believe being educated about nutrition has to do with it as well. Many families aren’t fortunate enough to be able to take classes that inform them on how to stay healthy. Some parents have to work full time jobs or even two jobs just to a make a living, leaving them with no time to take nutritional courses. My family was fortunate enough to have my mother informed on nutrition. We are not a high income family but we are lucky to be able to afford healthy foods.
