Examples Of Child Observation

Decent Essays
Choosing the kids for my observation was hard. For I was introduced to so many good children. Each who was fun to watch and see not just how they learn, but how they interact with each other. I have first chosen a pair of best friends Max and Leo. Max is a 4-year-old boy who loves to talk with friends every chance he gets. 4-year-old Leo is the same, but plays while he talks to the other kids. Along with another kid named Lilly. Lilly is a 4-yaer-old girl who is a bit of a Fashionista, she loves to smile and help others whenever she can. I’ve chose these three to see if best friends are so similar they are basically the same and are boys all that different from girls. First I will put into paragraph my observation notes for each of the three

On 06/01/2018 at approximately 2343 hours, I, Deputy A. Martinez Vazquez responded to 3050 Healing Place, Oviedo, Seminole County, FL., in reference to a juvenile battering a staff member of the facility. When I arrived, I observed a juvenile by the name of Diallo Xavier Fitzgerald (B/M DOB: 01/29/2003) sitting on a chair in the dining room area surrounded by other facility staff members. Diallo had noticeable scratches on his face, his forehead and nose appeared to be swollen. I first spoke with the staff member who Diallo allegedly assaulted by the name of Antonio Anton Young (B/M DOB: 10/02/1982). Antonio is a staff member of Boys Town and is entrusted as a caregiver for the facility at the time of the incident.…

“You spend all day with the same group of kids. You have the same teachers, play on the same teams, and shop at the same stores. It stands to reason that these people would be your friends, but it doesn’t seem to work that way. You can share a lot with other people and still not feel totally comfortable with them… they are acquaintances” (Richard). Children do not see a difference between friendship and acquaintanceship leading to miscommunication and disappointment.…

Observation: Rise Program Physical Setting Rise is a beautiful facility. All of the windows looking into the classrooms and looking outside are my favorite because they provide light, openness, and a sense of connection throughout the whole building. The commons is also a great area. It is large and open for all of the kids to spread out and explore their surroundings, while engaging in gross motor activities, such as going down a slide, riding a tricycle, or jumping on a trampoline.…

Brian (a pseudonym) is a young child in the group of early childhood (3-5 years) in the daycare located in the Psychology building. He seems to be of Hispanic background and speaks English. He has nice clothing which suggests he is from a nice home with a family that provides clothing and food normally. At this age, children may begin to push boundaries and voice their opinions. A child of this age is open to many relationships; family members, teachers and staff at school and a growing importance to them-their friends. They may start to feel a pressure to grow a strong relationship to form a “best friend.” Jealously may occur if the child has another sibling, but the knowledge of their own feelings and the consequence of their actions are increasing.…

My child observation and classroom observation took place at the Mt. San Jacinto Child Development and Education center in the preschool/pre-k (ages 36 months to 54 months) program room. This classroom has 2 teachers and 15 children in attendance during my observation. My study child is a male student age 4 who for this assignment I will refer to as C. The classroom environment as a whole can handle the children within the program, however I will provide a better picture of the entire room to have a clear picture for reflection. As a child walking into this classroom you feel a sense of warmth of both the environment and also from the teacher as she greats all her children individually.…

Spending two and half hours in each classroom, I learned a great deal about early childhood education from ages birth through eight, and the effort and skills that it takes to create a stimulating learning environment. For my infant, toddler, and preschool observations, I spent my hours at the CCC Childcare Center located in our college while for my kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade observations, I spent my time at Casey Park Elementary School. During my observations at the CCC Childcare Center, I learned plenty about the methods and practices that go into early education before primary grades. The preschool classroom really stood out to me because the centers in the classroom were very open ended and filled with lots of manipulative for…
