Brian (a pseudonym) is a young child in the group of early childhood (3-5 years) in the daycare located in the Psychology building. He seems to be of Hispanic background and speaks English. He has nice clothing which suggests he is from a nice home with a family that provides clothing and food normally. He always seemed to be smiling even when not talking proposing that he is a relatively happy child. He spent most of the observation running around which brought me to the conclusion that he is relatively healthy because he rarely was out of breath. Though a bit hard to understand, he seemed to be very talkative – often greeting others or smiling. I was unable to meet Brian’s parents to their marital status, economical and ethnic background, and siblings is unknown to me. Brian spent 14% of the time I observed him eating the birthday celebration cake on a daycare leaders lap, he did not talk much during the time. He they spends 11% of the time getting ready to go outside to play by washing his hands and then getting his jacket on. 38% of the time I observed playing outside running around, either with his toy dinosaur or the toy lawnmower. He rarely asked for anything or did any behaviors that are really significant. However, the observation was not up close. When the child was inside a glass window was separating him from me which did not allow me to hear what was being said in the classroom. Another hindrance of the observation was the fact that the outside observation had a gate surrounding it not allowing me closer access to the child to hear what was being said. However, when Brian moved to the paved part of the playground I was able to hear what was being said and see what was being done more clearly which allowed me to get better insight into the
