How do your actions speak about the type of person you are? Well in the classic novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s shows us how people are carelessness and what the actions say about them. There are many things that cause a person to acted on carelessness that not only affects them but others around them.

While Tom and Daisy were on their honeymoon Tom was already having an affair with a lady that worked at the hotel. One day Tom and the girl he was having the affair with when on a road trip when Jordan describes the accident they have, "Tom ran into a wagon on the Ventura road one night and ripped a front wheel off his car(Fitzgerald,82)." Tom not only acted carelessly but put others in danger. He also didn't care if he cheats on his wife or not. Daisy was talking to Nick about her daughter Pammy, the nurse told her,"it was a girl, and so I turned my head away and wept.'All right,' I said, 'I'm glad it's a girl. And I hope she'll be a fool- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool'(Fitzgerald,21)." Daisy doesn't even care about her how flesh in blood she wants her daughter to be a beautiful fool. What parent was their daughter or child to be a fool? When Daisy agreed to go to Gatsby's party Tom decided he would also go to the party. After what Daisy heard she was sure Gatsby wasn't the guy she thought. Daisy and Gatsby went back together to East Egg on the way over Daisy were overwhelmed with feeling and hit someone with the car, Gatsby explains to Nick that, "'You see when we left New York she was very nervous... Well, first Daisy turned away from the women towards the other car, and then she lost her nerve and turned back to the women...(Fitzgerald,151)." Daisy thought about all the emotions she was feeling at the time and wasn't think start yet it was careless of her to hit the women and not stop to see if she was alright or dead. Daisy shows another act of carelessness, Nick was about to leave Daisy's house when he finds Gatsby hiding in a bush, he wanted to make sure she won't be in any kind of danger.
