Some of Scout’s most valuable lessons are taught by Calpernia which leads to maturing and moral development because these lessons help children become more aware of other’s emotions, help understand what the other person is going through and know what’s right from wrong. Jem invites Walter Cunningham to supper after school. That day they all walked home together to have supper. When they arrive at the Finch’s house they wait for Atticus to have supper. While eating supper Walter is putting syrup all over his food. Scout is making fun of Walter and because of that Walter is embarrassed.
