Biblical Respective
How would you define biblical stewardship? Christians believe that stewardship begins and ends with the understanding of God’s ownership to everything in the world, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (Revelation 22:13). Stewardship is also described as Jesus telling a parable of the entrusted money the story of the servants and master. (Matthew 24:14-28). The parable of the loan money the master divided the money among his servants according to their abilities. The moral of the story is failure could come from being lazy. Our talents represent the kind of resources or gifts we are given by God. These talents, gift, and resources Jesus except us to use them wisely until he returns. We are responsible for how we use what God has given us through those talents and gifts. “The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more” (Matthew 25:16

In relationship to that, we should help the poor and serving with our fruits from our labor of work. When God has blessed us with talents, gift, and financial gain we should not keep all to ourselves. However, sharing these fruits and seeking ways to help our community, or volunteering at a local boys or girls club. I probably feel this way because Christ comes first in my daily life. Spending time with him is my first priority each day. Seeking his guidance, wisdom, encouragement to face my daily task gives me the me joy, peace, and the confidence that is needed to face the world. My perspective on this subject of stewardship, is very important to having a well-balanced life. Stewardship is not just about money, it speaks to every area of our walk with Christ. Knowing when to work, rest, play, and spend time in prayer. “Wisdom makes one wise man more powerful than ten rulers in a city” (Ecclesiastes 7:19

We must serve our awesome God. When God came to earth as a man, Jesus, he didn’t just enjoy it, he worked, he served others. There are so many examples in the Bible of serving others. 1 Peter 4:10, Matthew 20:28, Proverbs 11:25, 1 Corinthians 9:19. My favorite two verses that explain servantship so well are Acts 20:35, “....…

Our Lady of the Lake College is a Catholic institution that was created in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, who firmly believed that all of creation spoke volumes of God’s love for us. St. Francis was raised in a fairly wealthy family, and it was not until he was captured at battle for two years, that he decided to embark on the glorious journey of knowing Jesus Christ. He began preaching to word of God, and embraced others that were not of his kind. Students who attend Our Lady of the Lake College should be of the same example to others throughout their academic careers. As Franciscans, We live by five core values that are service, reverence and love for all of life, joyfulness of spirit, humility, and justice.…

I do agree that as stated in “Maxim 5” in Chapter 11 of The Seven Laws of the Learner, that, “Equipping should focus more intensely on the most committed.” Wilkerson points out that, “One of the most crucial characteristics of equippers is that they carefully select the people they are going to equip. The Lord knew the apostles for a period of time before he selected them. Effective equippers focus their resources on the most faithful candidates who demonstrate the most promise for long-term and meaningful ministry for the Lord” (Wilkinson, 369). This is a slow building process that may take years to see to fruition.…

On a blazing hot afternoon, I was with my Peer Ministry. It seemed like our whole group, interacting with the sizable population of homeless on the streets of Riverside, CA, was working like a fast food crew; we were distributing food from our cars at a superhuman pace. This activity seemed like any ordinary job our group did together — until I handed a brown paper bag to a homeless African American man. His expression registered shock. He put his hand on my shoulder and said, “Son, how did you know I needed help?”…

As far as time I concerned I have decided to get rid of my Netflix account so that my time wouldn’t be wasted, but rather will be used for something godly. As I do my best to save money for a new car, I am reminded that it is important for me to give a tithe back to God. If I need a new car bad enough, God will provide a way. The study of stewardship is also a great reminder to hold onto things loosely. If someone needs to borrow your car, let them borrow it.…

If we are good stewards of little things it is a sign of how we can act as stewards of big things. By teaching yourself to be stingy it brings about selfishness which then leads hoarding of wealth instead of blessing others. God blesses us and then we pass on the blessings to others. 3) One cannot serve both God and money equally both of them demands equal time. It is impossible to be committed to two masters.…

Individualism is what many consider the backbone of American culture or American dream. I find that is actually the reason for our slow fall and demise. It has affected my life and the people around me. It does not help us as christians to become more life Jesus because as soon as we are self centered becoming like Jesus is significantly harder. Individualism is summed up in a couple different ways, all focusing around self.…

I believe the purpose of Jeff Anderson writing Plastic Donuts is to help modern Christians rethink how to tithe. Some people today tithing is only an old testament thing and does not need to be done now or some people think the rule is only ten percent of your income. Jeff helps us rethink this by teaching us 4 basic principles. The first principle is that the amount matters. This is important because if we give an amount that is small and does not matter to us then it will not matter to God.…

Both Baxter and Witmer, in their books “The Reformed Pastor”,” The Shepherd Leader”, argue about how to be a good leader in a biblical way for Maturate Pastoral Ministry. While Baxter describes from his own point of view, Witmer harmonizes with Baxter including other points. Firstly, in this essay, we will be comparing and contrast, Timothy Witmer’s framework for leadership with his “old shepherd friend” Richard Baxter in The Reformed Pastor (1657) Secondly, we are going to Evaluate Witmer’s framework for leadership in which extant is biblical, practical and relevant to my personal context. Finally, there will be a Self-assess of my personal leadership in the church and home against this (modified) framework, with explaining strength and…

As a Christian, we believe that God created the universe and we, as people are his stewards therefore, we must take care of Gods precious creation; all of earth. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son.” This shows us that the Lord is the redeemer of all things and it is extended farther than just humans. Billy Graham speaks about the Christian faith and interacting with the environment along with many other scholars and different organizations that work specifically with different faith groups and the environment. First off, Billy Graham uses Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”…

In today’s society people has taken care of the environment in a different way. If God created the world and everything that goes along with it; then we as followers of God, Don’t we need to treat the world the way God would want us to? In Psalms 24:1-2 NIV it says “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.” How funny that not just people, but Christians themselves treat the world with such mocking and disrespect towards the environment. God had put his trust in us so that we could take care his treasures on this earth, and pass on the teaching towards our children from generations to generations.…
