Family values are one of the few key components in a relationship that can overpower betrayal. Even in unthinkable circumstances society chooses to cherish family more than anything else. Joseph was deceived by his brothers, they left him for dead, then bargained his life to the Ishmaelites for eight ounces of silver. Eventually Joseph is reunited with his brothers, but they are fearful of his resentment and judgment. Joseph’s brothers then say,”‘Please forgive us for the great wrong we have done to you… as servants of the God your father, we beg you to forgive our sin.’ [Joseph] broke down and wept… Joseph replied,” Don't be afraid of me.
