The people that have lost nothing, are the people who don’t care to be thankful about anything. It is important to be thankful because there are always things to be thankful for and sometimes we overlook all of them. In my opinion, “thank you” is one of the most overused phrases. People just say it to be polite without even thinking about what it truly means. They just say it, but are they truly thankful? I am thankful for my parents, pets, and soccer. They are what make me who I am and who I will be when I am older. Every single day, they go to work and work very hard so that I can go to an amazing school and come home to a nice house. I wake up every morning my mom or dad wakes me up. One thing that I love so much is when my mom makes breakfast, she doesn’t have time to do so very often so I am extra thankful when she does. I am thankful to come home from school every day and see them. In Laura Trice’s Ted Talk about remembering to say thank you, in line one, she talks about the “importance of praise, admiration and thank you, and having it be specific and genuine”. The definition of appreciation is “The recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something”.
