Examples Of Appeal Letter For Academic Suspension

Improved Essays
My name is Christian Ojeda and I am writing to you in hopes of an appeal for the decision of my academic suspension. I completely understand the circumstances under which the decision was made. My low GPA failed to meet the requirements to remain an active student which as a result led to this. I take full responsibilities for my actions and realize that I am at fault for being in this position. Although, I do feel as though part of my failure was due to bad timing last year.
Before I started last spring semester my GPA was .25 and after the semester I managed to bring to a 1.0 which was the GPA I had before the start last fall semester.
I made a few changes in my study habits and took three classes, College Algebra, US History 2, and English Composition, to bring above a 2.0 to take me off any type of probation.

It wasn’t until we started covering new material that I started to struggle with the class. When I tried asking for help the professor would make it seem like it was inconvenient for one on one help, even during her office hours, and sent us to the learning lab most of the time. Whenever tests would come around, she would mark off how we did the work the learning lab tutors showed us how to do because it wasn’t how she taught it. After receiving an F and a C on the first two tests, I made the decision to withdrawal from the course because I felt that there was no way for me to receive at least a B and was a threat to my goal of getting my GPA above a 2.0. I was still enrolled in History 2 and English composition so felt comfortable with depending on those two classes for my GPA

My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…

I expected the difficulty of the material to be harder as this was a college course, but I anticipated taking the same approach I had taken to study as previous history courses. I thought I would go to a lecture, take notes, read the textbook, and memorize the information to be reiterated on the test. However, I quickly learned that this was not going to be the typical history lecture I envisioned. On the first day of class when I heard it was a lab initially I was confused,…
