How does the example of Abraham in Genesis 14:21-23 challenge you to be honest?
I think the story of Abraham is a great example of how easily someone can try to corrupt you with worldly possessions. In this verse, the king of Sodom tries to convince Abraham to take ” the goods” for himself and to release the people he had saved from Sodom. Abraham knew this would not be pleasing to God so declined t o take anything for himself. What I think this passage is saying even if a person of authority gives you permission to take something that is not yours, you should decline to take it because you have not right to it even if it’s offered to you. I feel that it can be intimidating when a person of authority asks you to be dishonest especially
