Throughout generations The Crucible has been proof human nature never changes. Marriages are ruined because of affairs, some relationships are can be reconnected even after the affair. People are still being falsely accused of crimes they haven’t done and sitting in prison until proven innocent. Those people sitting in prison are most likely going to die for what they think is right, they are taking the morally high road. John Proctor and Elizabeth are both good examples of this. “I mean to please you, Elizabeth.” (Miller Act II: 31) John Proctor, at the beginning of the play has an affair with Abigail Williams. This is still happening throughout the world. Marriages are being ruined and confused due to affairs, Proctor cannot forgive himself throughout the entire play because of the things he has done to Elizabeth.

She ends up getting almost the entire town in the jail to save herself. “And yet silent, minister? It is fraud, you know it is fraud. They are usually accused by people who are guilty of something and they're trying to cover their crime up with someone else's
