It’s not the struggle that sets people apart, it’s their ability to endure, survive, learn, and grow. It’s their resilience. Struggling is not unusual. Everyone fails some, but not everyone tries again. Everyone trips and falls, but not everyone gets back up. Everyone deals with heartbreak and disappointment in their lives but not everyone continues striving towards their goals, nonetheless. Not everyone is resilient.

Sometimes your struggle is with the world around you and other times it is entirely within yourself. I struggle every day to overcome my personal weaknesses, predilections, and failings. Some days I fail to rise to the challenge or live up to my own standards. Rather than berate myself for my failings, I focus on how I can do better. You need to let it be okay to let yourself fail, because you will. It is only through failure that you can achieve success. Failure is not to be feared. It can be exhausting at times when it seems like all you do is attend class, study, practice, do chores, sleep, and wake up to do it all over again. It’s hard work that’s only made more difficult when dealing with the pain of a broken home. No question about that. Understand that you will work hard in your lives regardless of what you do. All the studying and extra effort you put into school now isn’t so that won’t have to work hard later. I can guarantee you’ll work hard. It’s so you can have more than just a job, but a career you actually enjoy, stability, good working conditions, and earn much more money for the hard work that you will do. This is the only way you will be able to afford to raise a family, have a better life, and retire from work at some
