Reading Literacy Narrative Life is the world that we live, work and grown up day by day. But another world can be open for you in the books. The fairy tales, new lands, adventures, etc... you can read all those interesting in the books. I remember when I was a child, my mom and my grandmother usually read books for me. They always read before I sleep or when i sad because the tales about Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, Little Mermaid, ect.... always are the dream world of any child. Later when I have children, I will read for them every day about the stories that I have heard when I was a child. I have been reading a lot of books such as fairy tales, novels, ghost stories... when I read them, I learned a lot of experiences in life, and that also helps me relax any time I tired or bored. Sometimes, I also listen to audiobook on TV or my phone, but I do not really like it because I like holding and reading by my eyes, it makes me feel

I never intended to be an illegal smuggler. Seriously. But when four-year-old me found out that preschool had "naptimes" (in which apparently nobody napped, making it a waste of time to me), I decided to take matters into my own hands, with drastic measures. The next day, my top-secret contraband came in with me, in the form of a book. At 1:30, while everyone else did whatever preschoolers do during naptime, the book snuck out of its carefully concealed hiding place and I disappeared into its pages.…

My first memory of reading was when I was little, about 4 or 5, and my mom would read to me when I was going to bed. By far my favorite book that she would read to me was “Where The Wild Things Are”. I loved the way the booked looked with the faded looking colors that made it look old and I loved the pictures of the wild things and how the kid was the king and everyone listened to him and I just loved it.…

I second all of the points brought up by Chris in his responce to your incredible writing. I was deeply moved by your literacy narrative. By simply having the pleasure of spending the past month or so with you, I would have never known about the part of your life that you wrote so passionately about in your literacy narrative. I often find it so intriguing that everyone has a story that resonates so deeply with him or her. That is exactly why I think large projects such as Humans of New York (HONY) or class assignments such as this one are so important.…

Does rejection or determination push you to go beyond the limits of what one expects of you? Most everyone would say it does, but does this only affect those of us who want to be writers? It definitely does not, nor is it limited to anyone of a particular language. People of different backgrounds, all have the same urge to learn something not entirely expected of them, even if it is just a different language. The writings of people, while very similar, have a great number of differences.…

Project #1: Literacy Narrative I remember walking across the lawn from our tiny add on classroom, up the stairs, and into the second grade class. Walking to my assigned desk directly in front of the window, I sat down in front of my best friend. Sometimes, sleepy and tired, I stared at the giant oak tree in our school yard and watching the clouds move. My first experience with writing was in fourth grade.…

Literacy Narrative I did a lot of writing while I was in the tenth grade. The English teacher I had at the time was the best when it came down to writing. I did not have too much interest in writing at the time but Mrs. Perez changed that, she gave me a new perception on writing and how it can change society. Mrs. Perez would always recommend really good books, one of which was a book called “His Dark Materials”. This story is about a young girl and her allies, fight for the discover of a dark substance called the “Dust”.…

Throughout my entire school career, I have been frustrated at my math classes, but it wasn’t that they were going too fast; it was that they were going too slow. Every opportunity to move ahead I was given, I used. When I was given the chance to move up from Algebra II to pre-calculus, I studied for hours every day up until the day of the test came. “Beep! Beep!…

Ogene Ochai Professor Thomas Writ 101 9 September 2014 Literacy Narrative Moving to the United States was a very hard transition for me. Learning how to speak the American English, and learning their spelling words was so difficult because I was raised speaking British English, learning the morals, culture and how you guys communicated with one another was also a hard part of moving down here. I already knew how to speak English when I moved to the United States, but I spoke British English, and spelt words differently from the Americans. For example, the Americans spells color without a “U” and with the background I had we spelt the word “color” with a U, and we used the same words but some of them has…

Reading was something I was practically raised on as a child. My dad made sure that my younger sister and I were read to every single night before he tucked us in, passing down a tradition that he believed had aided in shaping his own childhood. I distinctly remember my simple mind roaming along in the lands of Narnia and Middle Earth as such books instilled in me a restless sense of adventure and a longing to learn. This longing drove me to read more and more on my own, all the while my father continued to read to me at a higher and more complex level, that at the time seemed unattainable. Yet books to me were journies completely separate from my own world and I could never seem to envision them as anything more than a source of entertainment.…
