Poverty is not only describes the level of income a person receives but, it is also a form of lifestyle. Poverty is given the power to take over a person’s life and sets boundaries or limitations to what a person or the people of the community can do as a whole. As of my examples poverty has taken a toll on families such as Jackie’s. Poverty affected them by the limited amount of money they had to pay for bills and when Jackie’s daughter was so hungry that she ate cereal and water. For the Yellow Sunday story, the dad left the mother and his daughters so that he could get his life together and support his family with the things they needed and wanted. Nevertheless, the three young women that have went through similar but different encounters.
