On 05/03/16 at 3:55pm, I was dispatched to 460 Olpp Ave on a possible nuisance dog; dog still at large, threat to safety. I arrived at the house and talk to Sabrina Hicks, who stated that a dog down the street came at her younger daughter while she was walking down the street. Ms. Hicks stated that if her other daughter didn’t try to kick the dog; the dog would of bite her daughter. Ms. Hicks wrote out a victim statement for her daughters due to both being minors. As Ms. Hicks was writing out her statement, I saw the dog down the street running loose. As I was approaching 492 Olpp Ave, the next door neighbors at 488 Olpp knocked on the neighbor at 494 Olpp Ave who knew the occupants of 492 Olpp Ave. The neighbor opened the door and allowed the dog in the …show more content…
The neighbor contacted the occupants of 492 Olpp via phone. I spoke to the occupants who stated that they were holding the dog for a friend. The occupants were not returning back to the resident soon. I advised the resident that I will be returning to the house at a later time, a door notice was left at the house. At 8:30pm, I returned to the house, to determine the owner of the dog. The occupants of the house stated that the owner of the dog was a Vanessa Smith 614-557-4638. I advised the occupants that due to the incident and no one claiming ownership of the dog, the dog will be impounded and the owner will have to come to the shelter to reclaim the dog. I impounded the dog and placed it in my van. I left a door notice with the occupants to give to Ms. Smith when she returned. The dog has been designated nuisance and violations should be
