Example Of My Personal Worldview

Amazing Essays
My Personal Worldview A belief in something is what defines your entire outlook on life and the world around you. Phillips, et. al., describe a worldview as, “A world view is the framework of our most basic beliefs that shapes our view of and for the world and is the basis of our decisions and actions” (2008, pg. 8). Everybody has a different “story” in life, therefore we all have a different worldview. What do I believe to be true? Why do I believe it to be true? How does this apply to my day to day life? The answers to these questions for me, originated from my upbringing and continue to expand as I grow older. All of these questions are different and affect each individual in a unique way. I was raised in a Christian home where God …show more content…
This applies to my daily life in many different ways. Being saved by the blood of Jesus, my daily life is impacted. I am called to love God first and others second. I am also called to walk humbly with God. “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (Micha 6:8). I spend time with God daily by reading His word and by praying. I try to pray every day for spiritual strength, forgiveness, sinners, others hurting, family, and more. I believe that everybody is created in the image of God, therefore I am to treat them with dignity and kindness. I treat others the same no matter what their skin color or background might be. I try to be a friend to all who I come in contact with. My faith and love of God helps me teach young children. I strive to lead by His example and through His word. I reach out to others about the gospel. Dr. Greg Hall, from answersingenesis.org, offers some wisdom on this, “As we teach them apologetics and help them learn how to study the Bible to feed their own souls, we will be fostering a faith that will withstand the attacks on the world. Firmly grounding their worldview in Scripture offers them great hope and assurance that they can conquer the challenges from the world.” I think this is so important to remember, especially in our world today. Christian values are being attacked more and more every day. If …show more content…
While here on earth, we are to worship and serve Him as Lord and Savior. Everything that we see and do in life shapes our worldview. Thankfully, I grew up in a Christian family and therefore, I have a strong biblical worldview. I also have to be respectful of others worldview, even with other Christians, as they won’t be the same as mine. Sire (2015) explains this as pluralism. I need to be open to looking closer at why they believe what they do and try to understand them better. With all the evil that is happening in our world today, I hold strong to my faith and keep the Bible close when doubts come my way. There are so many temptations out there on social media, TV, and movies deriving from Satan. It’s important as Christians that we hold onto our convictions, lest we be separated from them. It is with strong conviction and faith that we can force the immoral provokers away from our lives indefinitely. In the midst of life’s struggles and challenges, our biblical worldview helps to stabilize life, serving as an anchor to God’s faithfulness and

Our church is a church of needy people, as I am one, and I can see in His Word that God has given me all that is needed for life and godliness; therefore, I can be a vessel for His use to pour into others’ lives the great truths of the grace of the Gospel and all that Christ has done and to find our identity in Him. Our church is a church needing order brought from chaos - a great work God has given all of us. If I am one who is willing to be vulnerable and transparent because my trust and identity are in Christ, then Lord willing, that will be a catalyst of others finding their identity in Christ, which will allow them to be vulnerable and transparent so the light of Christ can shine on us and begin lighting the candles of…
