The line graph compares the rates of 3 different types of crime in Newport city centre during the 10-year period from 2003 to 2012. Overall, it is clear that burglary has the most cases happened each year, but the least for robbery. In the first year, the number of burglary incidents stood at the highest point at about 3400 approximately compared to 2800 incidents for car theft and only 600 for robbery cases. In the following 9 years, the rate of incidents caused by burglary saw a gradual increase and reached the peak at about 3700 incidents in 2004.
