The Italian system has not always had this plan though. This type of system was created in 1978. They started using this system in 1978 when they started following the leads of the British National Health System, which had two main principles when they first started. First was that every Italian citizen and foreign resident has a right to healthcare and second, the system covers all the necessary treatments that a patient needs (Italian National Health Service). The national health system of Italy offers very inexpensive healthcare to all European citizens. The in patient treatments that are covered include tests, medications, surgeries, family doctor visits and medical assistance. I believe that there are quite a few significant ways to accomplish this. For here in the United States I believe that they could start by making government assistance easier for the working class and students to receive. I say this from personal experience because I know how hard it is to receive insurance when you are working and going to school. For me I work thirty-five plus hours and go to school third quarter. For not quite being a full time student I cannot receive insurance from the school related help they offer and because I am only working part time and do not have a good full time job just yet, it is not offered at my workplace and I cannot afford it through a private place but I also do not qualify for medicaid either. With all that being said I believe that the government should start making it easier to receive certain benefits under certain circumstances. Another thing I believe that we could do would be to atleast make primary care more affordable, I believe with this that we could prevent so many diseases and problems, ultimately making Americans healthy. Not only would this be good for the United States but it would also be good for Italy too considering it would help decrease the amount of citizens not seeing the doctor. Although these are only a couple things that we could do to help our systems, I believe that these would be two groundbreaking steps to better health
