Grit can be defined based on someone’s act and attitude towards any situation. Despite the many challenges and obstacles that are given, a gritty person tends to stick to their goals and achieve it. Angela Duckworth proclaimed “New psychological research suggests that grit – defined as endurance is pursuit of long-term goals and an ability to persist in the face of adversity – is a key part of what makes people successful.” (Health). Once you can develop true grit you can overcome anything the world throws at you. Dr. Duckworth declared “Grit may be as essential as talent to high accomplishments.” (Health). My father and I share many different qualities and traits, but one that it most important is grit. My father and I both share courageousness in our acts and intentions. In any given situation, my father is always there to subside things. He knows how to settle everything in an orderly manner. His absolute kindness, and fearlessness characterize him as courageous. In any confrontation that he faces, he always comes out with a positive result. He is never overwhelmed by fear to conquer challenges or situations. Since he is the father in the household, he feels obligated to face ultimatums head on as an example to us. He is also perceived as an example of the actions he takes when it comes to supporting my family and me in our own ideals. My father always says, ‘Do more for others than you do for yourself’ as a result, he displays a great mentor to that factor. I have picked up on my father’s fashion of taking on situations by my stubbornness to failure, and by urging myself to always push forward for a better outcome. Instead of condemning my difficulties, I embrace them since it only makes me determined to fulfill my desires. This has always allowed me to never settle or reveal my limitations, but instead to offer me a platform to rise above
