Example Of Government Overreach

As I begin I want to specify what the government is for and why we have it. The government is there to support all of us, the people of the United States of America. As mentioned in the Declaration of Independence the government is there to do what the public cannot do for ourselves, this means they will provide police who will protect our communities, road workers who will build us roads, and any other basic infrastructural needs. They are there to help us, that was the main reason in the first place. The exact definition of government is as follows “the governing body of a nation, state, or community.“ I compared two dictionary definitions of government. One perfect example happened fairly recently when the government tried to take away our right to the use of guns, they wanted to take the public’s guns away in attempt to stop shootings, murders and so on. This is just one example, they disregarded our constitutional rights and tried to pass laws that weren’t right and against everything that America stands for. It used to be that people could only be on unemployment help for six months, due to president Obama’s actions, it is now two years. The benefit of this, there isn’t one according to me. People on unemployment don’t have to pay taxes, they are given money, supplied from taxpayers, mostly all of those on unemployment just sit around and watch tv, while the hard working Americans work their butts off so they can have a percentage taken out off their paycheck so the people sitting around get paid. It is unfair and stupid. Sure, there are a few people who actually need it because their boss laid them off and they can’t find another job, but there are also so many people who take advantage of
