\There is a man. There is a man who has designed the covers of countless non-gossip magazines. A man who has made the mastheads for countless non-gossip magazines. This man also created the font and logo for new Pepsi ads, the Nabisco logo, the logo for Swiss Army, the Ringling Brothers logo, the AC/DC sign (my favorite), and countless more. So, who is this man?…
In the article, New Orleans Is Wrong to Remove Its Confederate Monuments, Daniel Davidson argues that it was wrong for the confederate statues in New Orleans to be taken down. He advocates his argument by using a numerous amount of rhetorical strategies- slippery slope, parallel structure, rhetorical questions, ethos, pathos, and logos. In Davidson’s article, he starts off with using a story of the first confederate stature being torn down- in the story, Davidson uses pathos to connect with the intended audience and get them to believe and agree with his viewpoint. After telling pathos-filled stories, he includes the use of a slippery slope- he explains that the removal of one confederate statue will continue and cause school and public memorials…
The trademark of logos, mascots and names of collegiate sports are on a different level than professional organizations. In professional sports, this situation is where it has hit its all time high. For decades professional sports organizations like the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians have been faced with a tremendous amount of trademark controversy over their name or logo. There are many more professional teams facing this adversity but these two have been dealing with the USPTO for years to try to patent their trademark. With that said, because USPTO uses the Lanham Act of 1946, they have denied registration.…
1) Baldwin letter: Letter is one the oldest kind of written form addressed to a person or organization. At the beginning of a letter essay, the writer will specifically state the subject that he/she wrote to, but actually the audience can be more than that. For example, James Baldwin’s letter, he wrote to his nephew on the one hundredth anniversary of the emancipation as the title tell us. But I think he wanted to tell not only to his nephew, but also the younger generation to love their race bestowed on them. Letter is a personal message so it will be much easier to appeal to pathos than other approaches.…
Another fundament power of rhetoric is pathos, or emotion, which the advertisement also exhibits through a humorous technique. One key element necessary for a successful argument is sympathy or to share the audience’s mood. Viewers can sympathize with Couric and Gumbel even though they are celebrities because they share the same confusion at learning new things. The ad also achieves sympathy through storytelling in a humorous skit rather than simply rattling off logistics. Humor is an emotion that, if played correctly, can draw an audience in and keep them listening.…

Snickers to that fear of a men in consideration and displayed it in this ad.…
The Scarecrow was a persuading advertisement to support organic food. It was showing a scarecrow, observing all the secret of a company “crow food”. I think pathos is shown in this advertisement more than ethos and logos. It’s affecting us in an emotional way. The background music was so slow, and the advertiser created a sad mood.…

Mark Antony was Caesar's best friend and when he learned about Caesar's death he was very sullen. Pathos and logos are two of the rhetorical devices used my Mark Antony in his eulogy to Caesar.…

It gives the reader something to feel and connect with.…

This commercial is also, in a way, made in a skit format, leaving room for a lot of improvs to be done. This is smart logically because now the audience can take a different look at the commercial and have more of what real reactions look like and how this mother would really tackle an everyday mishap. Therefore, the commercial is even more effective because we are getting real reactions from people who are viewing this commercial. Also, because of it being left to improv and showing the real reactions, we get real emotions and that leads into how pathos is shown and used throughout the…
