According to S.M.A.R.T. fitness goals (2009), “This allows you to feel good about reaching them and to keep moving on to the next one.” A person can expect to be successful, if they set goals and know how to get there. Setting effective goals will help an individual become and stay motivated. A person has more control, structure and better chances of success if they set effective goals. S. If I can choose to be positive and motivated, then I can certainly direct whether any of my goals will become a success or a failure. I must practice patience and not be intimidated by the potential of failure happening. I may initially focus on the big picture, but making smaller goals or short-term goals are how I am going to be successful in the long run. Realistically, I have to commit my hopes and fears to reaching any and all goals by focusing, tracking my progress and being intentional with my goals. For my future, I have many life, wellness and academic goals. In my future life, I plan to continue raising our children to become wonderful teenagers and adults. I look forward completing projects around our home and planning family vacations. For my future wellness, I plan to work harder for my overall fitness, to include losing body fat and toning. My future academic goals are to finish my associates degree in general studies and to be accepted in the respiratory therapy program at Salisbury University. In conclusion, the goals I make give me the focus I need to live with purpose. I would not be successful with anything, if I didn 't have direction, reasons for achieving goals and the support of my family. The past does not determine my future.
