Example Of Econ Guy

Econ guy has the ability to explain semi complex topics in a way that everyone is able to understand, this is very helpful when learning about things like profits. The idea that high profits will not last forever is important to understand when; investing in companies, stocks, etc. As a consumer of groceries I have always noticed that people will shift to other lines when theirs are too long. Using this example to explain how high profits equal out makes perfect sense. When more and more companies join in on a successful idea competition tends to lower the profits of the original high profit company, because consumers now have more options and go for the cheaper products. Refection: The Unconventional Guest Speaker In Business 101, as a class, we were introduced to various guest speakers, who worked in some aspect of business. The guest speaker, who stood out the most, was Jared Loftus. Unlike the majority of guest speakers who discussed how great their company is and their success, Loftus took a different approach. Instead of focusing on his success, he discussed his “failures” in depth, which (in my opinion) was the most important lesson of all.…

The American Dream Dead, Alive, or on Hold by Brandon King demonstrates exactly what not do in an article that's supposed to be fact based and based on if a dream is dead or still alive. In the article Brandon kings biggest argument is that the American Dream isn't dead, however that its metamorphosing into being about financial stability rather than being able to own everything one desires. The argument he delivers isn't successful in what he's trying to portray because he uses pathos, used to evoke emotion, and logos, used to persuade an audience. Additionally two rhetorical device he uses is pathos which is used to manipulate his audience into believing what he says is correct based on their emotions, and logos to persuade based…

The drought is a hot topic all throughout California right now and Dr. Schwabe presented a new perspective that I had not heard before. I occasionally read literature on California drought, so I had some knowledge on this issue already. He not only breaks down his arguments into easy to navigate misperceptions but also will start each of the points off with the opposing argument. For example, before Ungar addresses how liberal arts is a good education path because it includes not only art but English, science, and math he explains how the STEM field is where everyone 's focus is at and how that is where you will be most successful. Although I have never seen this before I think this works to his advantage considering it gives you both views but only an explanation of the choice he is getting you to agree on. It also establishes credibility one again by having seen both sides of the argument. He poses the problem and then suggests a way around it.…

In the violinist example, it’s basically saying that you have the power to save his life since you have the right blood and it's your choice if you want to let him live or die, but you are kidnapped and forced to do it. This example can relate to rape where you get pregnant due to it, but you still have the right to abort it because it happened without your consent. For the Henry Fonda example, i believe she is trying to say that nobody has the right to be given something that belongs to someone else. For example a mother should not feel forced into letting a baby inhabit her body while she’s pregnant because the body belongs to her. In the people seeds experiment, she is trying to say that if you somehow got pregnant even though you did not…

Productivity A common trait among highly successful people is taking action, so be productive! Being busy doesn’t translate to productivity as we are always engaged in one activity or the other at every point in our lives-it could be sitting, working, breathing, eating, cooking, sleeping, chatting, etc. Rather than focusing on just any action, outcomes matter the most. When you care about the results of your actions, the zeal to get the most of that activity is unwavering.…
