Vince Lombardi once said, “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” Dedication is the act of having commitment towards someone or something, while success is the accomplishment of the desired aim. Dedication and success can be applied in various scenarios, the three most common being education, athletics, and persuasion. The indisputable connection between dedication and success is that without one the other is not likely-- whereas if there is one, the other is anticipated.
Individuals who choose to be dedicated to their work tend to show more promise in succeeding. That being said, dedication is more than just hard work and in order to be successful in all things one must be able to fully commit to the task at hand, having the mindset of success. From the start of life children are taught that if they succeed in school they will be successful in life. A student must apply themselves to their work and be determined to pass a class in order to succeed in that goal. If an athlete puts their heart and soul into progressing then they are more likely to be the best. Typically, no athletes are able to wander onto their playing arenas for the first time and be the best. For example, high school athletes are required to attend an after school practice for at least two hours, but most high school sports also do preseason camps or summer workouts. If an athlete wasn’t dedicated to the sport then they wouldn’t put in any extra effort than the minimum requirement, but those that are dedicated put in any amount of time they can spare to practice resulting in a higher success
