Today made me think about my past. The things I got over and never realized it.
One of the patients that we saw today was having a hard time with her finger and she said she was starting to have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) because of her finger. She said she was exaggerating, but what she felt, felt close to that.
As we continued talking the therapist picked up on certain words that the patient was saying and the biggest word abandoned, then we kept talking and dug a little deeper. This patient has an abandonment issue and she feels that way towards her finger. It’s okay to say I don’t like my finger, my hand etc., but to keep drilling it in your head is never good.
I told her you are dissociating your brain
