Andrew Jackson once said, “One man with courage makes a majority.” Courage is the strength a person shows when he or she faces fear. Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather knows how to control the fear. To be courageous is to be brave. Courage is the ability to stand up for one’s principles and beliefs. Courage is contagious, when a brave person takes a stand the rest of the people tend to do the same thing. A person tends to imitate the behavior of others, but the imitation is not always the right to do. Sometimes it is necessary to stand for one’s principles and beliefs, even if those principles are not socially acceptable. Rosa Parks demonstrated to have courage, by refusing to give up her seat on the bus. Parks stood up for her
