Having confidentiality to my client, in this case, I would have to follow the state laws. The client would have to be deployed and this wife would be allowed to use some of the programs we have available at the base camp. According to Gewirth Principles of Hierarchy: NASW, Principle 4: Obligation to obey law, as a social worker, I have to follow the law in this case. There is no special treatment for the family. They offer classes and programs where the husband can still be involved in the pregnancy. A lot of families have been faced with this problem, but in the army you have to follow the state laws and in this case, I would have to follow the law.
