The therapist met with the patient for an individual session. The therapist introduce herself and was quickly able to establish a rapport. The patient is 22 years old African American female with one 5-year-old son who is currently in CPS custody. She reports testing positive for Cannabis. She reports surrendering her son in January 2016 and he has been in foster care since. The patient reports that the pervious therapist help her to identify some new skills. She states the previous therapist want her to attend a self help group and she did not feel the need for that and it create a conflict in their relationship. The patient reports she has not use cannabis since last year and her last drink was a month ago. The counselor educated on her on how the use of alcohol and cannabis was a factor and how to move forward and how to start identify relapse triggers and warning signs and symptoms. …show more content…
