I feel as if I have many memorable experiences from Exploris. One of them is when I went to Hope Elementary. Whenever we went to Hope Elementary School, we were able to work with the little children to teach them the science they were supposed to learn during the year. The experience helped me to learn how to plan ahead. Another example is when I went on the Outward Bound trip.…

The traditional view of art has changed over time just as most things have. Naturally, the act of perception has differed opinions on what society considers as art. Dance, paintings, photography, drawings, music, literature, and sculpting, are what comes to mind when contemplating the aspects of art. The limitation to defining a word so opinionated leaves out room for self-expression. The traditional ideas of what is considered art should be broadened; granted, although not tangible, art can be seen through ambitions, emotions, and expression through appearances when not limited to the customary definition.…

In this paper I will be showing what my Reformed worldview is in contrast with other worldviews of this time. A worldview is how one views the world. This view will differ from person to person depending on how they see this world. For example a secular humanist will have a different view than I would as a Christian because I am looking at the world through the lens of scripture while the secular humanist would be looking at this world through the lens of science and the idea of God being obsolete. In dealing with worldview there are ten disciplines that have different meaning for each these are History the study of the past places, persons, and events, Philosophy the love of wisdom; attempt to discover an explanation for the whole existence, Psychology the study of the soul, mind, and spirit, Theology the study of the existence (or non-existence), nature and attributes of God, Law the study of principles of conduct or procedure which are expected to be observed, Economics the rule or management of resources, whether by an individual or a society, Ethics the study of conduct, moral values, duties, actions and ends, Sociology the study of social institutions and society, Politics the art of governing a city, state, or nation, and finally Biology the study of living organisms.…
We live in a world where global warming, war, famine, pandemic diseases, and racism are the norm. These occurrences contribute to many social anxieties that society deals with on a day to day basis, raising the question: that if these problems continue to get worse for humanity as we know it, what will become of us as a civilisation? Zombies are defined as corpses, said to be will-less and speechless humans who have died and been supernaturally reanimated. Depicted as emotionless and mindless, their decaying bodies are driven by primal instincts based on an uncontrollable urge: hunger for human brains. The myths of Zombies represent the social, historical, and personal traumas of human lives in which zombies continually revisit and inflict on the living.…
What is one example of ageism that you have witnessed in healthcare? The one example of ageism that I have witnesses in healthcare is when everyone sweet talk to elderly and try to do everything for them and not letting a person do the things that they can do themselves. . I have witnessed staff feeding the patient even when patient is requesting to eat by herself but they do it because they assumed it will take longer for them to finish because of the old age. Even witnessed staff putting the diaper to the patient at the night time because they think that they are too sick to get up at night to go to the restroom even the patient are using the restroom during the day.…
Our project used ethos, a way to inspire through emotions, to inspire the eighth graders. We believed our project inspired because of its use of emotion invoking thoughts. Our project was to inspire the incoming freshmen about high school. As the audience was nervous, and we had experience with what they would be going through, we decided to inspire them. In my opinion, our group effectively presented our message in response to what we learned from the reading.…
Genre Analysis: Three Different Voices of Retrograde Amnesia The main purpose of writing in psychology is to share existent or new knowledge in the field with a wider audience. Since many psychology-related research are conducted within institutionalized laboratories, only a selective group of people, such as researchers, research assistants, and research review board members know about the conducted research’s progress. Therefore, scientists, who obtain respectable degrees, usually write comprehensive papers dedicated to the progress of their research, while embracing the purpose of reporting their findings, whether these findings are significant or not. Likewise, some researchers report findings from several previously conducted research to have a detailed analysis of what type of work has been done in the field related to a specific subject.…
Everyone has their own definition of art. It is hard to give a really specific definition to art. As an individual person, we all have our own opinion about art. Therefore, in this paper, I am going to discuss what is art and what is not art, how are different arts be meaningful and useful in my own life or career and what makes art objects meaningful to us. And how can we decide an artwork is meaningful or not then why does art matter.…
Throughout this course I have gained more of an appreciation for artwork and the artists that create them. I have also gained an appreciation for the people that try to define what art is in general or more specifically what makes good art. We have read great thinkers and their philosophies on this, and the fact that even people of such great intelligence can disagree on the subject proves how challenging it can be. By reading the opinions of these great thinkers, and by discussing their thought with our class, I feel I am in a much better place as to define what makes good art myself. I define art as anything created by someone that inspires another to appreciation.…
It only goes to show that the question that more than likely receives the most generic answers from an audience, can also be the hardest to answer truthfully. What is art? If you were to ask a group of one thousand people that very question, the chances are that the majority of them would answer it by saying something along the lines of “It is and expression of yourself and how you feel” and “Painting, drawing, sculpting, and photographs.” I refuse to be restricted to these two categories, only to answer the same way all others have. That may make me seem stuck up in some way, however, I feel that I have a fairly unique understanding that not many think about.…
