American Exceptionalism Examples

American exceptionalism is what sets the United States apart from other nations. Exceptionalism includes different ideas and concepts that make America unique. There are plenty of examples of it throughout history, and even still today. Some examples are positive, while others are quite the opposite. America has a lot of pride where nationalism is concerned. So much so, America uses its own word to describe nationalism, that sets it apart from nationalism in other countries. In the United States, nationalism is called patriotism. That extent of pride can be both a negative and a positive thing. Americans are always thinking about how they can take an every day task and make it easier, faster, and just more efficient. Americans are also good at taking ideas from other countries, and improving on them. An example of this is Henry Ford and the automobile. While the original idea was not his, he made a model that revolutionized the automobile. His model was affordable to the middle and working classes, making their dreams of freedom on the road come true. His improvement led to the building of hundreds of roads. Passion, drive, determination and patriotism are all positive parts of it, but in some cases, those same qualities can be used negatively. Overall, America is an exceptional nation, but it could stand to work on a few things. After all it is the home of the free, so we should live up to those
