I believe that the advocacy process is not only with the community but also with the clients and myself. I believe that it is important to provide a sense of empowerment to clients to not only have help from you, but for them to know that they can help themselves in a way. This starts with encouraging and supporting clients to be a part of self-help groups and finding support from friends and family. I believe that being an advocate for my clients’ starts with me being able to empathize with them, and be their voice for the support that they need.
