Stereotypes are characteristic tend to be oversimplifications of groups involving gender,

race, national origin and other factors. Samples of stereotype are “ African American are athletic,

Asians are good in math or “ She's a typical blonde…” These are a few examples of stereotyping

still use by generalize people in certain groups. It classifies for convenience, by assuming we

know what those groups of people are alike but it is wrong to assume and judge someone by

stereotyping not all members of certain group are the same as what the stereotypes stated.

In addition some of them are role models to many people “ I know one girl in my Calculus Class

that is doing very well in school with an A in the Calculus course. I remember she was

mentioned by my professor to be a tutor in the class because she constantly has an A in the test.

Not only does she do well in school, but she is also a very active person . By the way, she is also

is a member of varsity volleyball. This example prove that not all blonde girls are stupid.

Another stereotype that I have hear is that “ I’m Asian so I must be a nerd that does homework everyday per week. Many people made a mistake when saying that because they do not

understand or realize that whoever does their homework and turn in for a good grade and be

success later in life. They do what they’re suppose to do in order to stay top in class. I also

realize that diversities of student did homework everyday at home to earn a good grade but not

all students that do their homework are Asians. This stereotype were also proof to be wrong.
