The presented findings suggested that ABA may be an effective intervention to assist children diagnosed with autism in learning new skills and behaviors. Results specifically indicated an overall improvement from participants in the targeted learning areas. For example, all children exhibited a mild to moderate improvement in the learning of new coping skills, self-control, and on-task behaviors, leading to a decreased in challenging behaviors. For example, we faced unexpected challenges not only from conducting the evaluation itself, but from not being able to overcome barriers in the group’s dynamics. “The fly in the ointment” in my opinion was that we thought we had all the materials needed to conduct the evaluation and never anticipated the frustration we were about to experience for not having access specifically to the measurement tools. This was a drawback because it happened near the deadline of the project and created tension between group members. Despite these challenges, it is important to remember that one of the goals of this project was to learn about the dynamics of the program evaluation process and its implications. Therefore, we concluded that an evaluation is not without challenges and the information obtained from these practices can benefit the program participants by securing future funding as well as to effectively deliver
