Everyone wants to leave behind a legacy; something people will remember them by. When we think of others that have passed on we often remember them for a certain quality they possessed. We also remember people for the type of person they were and what they took through life with them. Recently, I read “The Last Lecture” by author Randy Pausch. Paush has terminal cancer, and he tries to find a way to leave behind a legacy for his children and the world.…
Legacy is what an individual leaves behind. Caleb Bradham left behind Pepsi-Cola, a better soda to drink than sodas in 1898. He left behind Pepsi-Cola for the community. The community started his drive to create a healthier soda. He also left behind the drive to help the community.…
Although I am still young, and don’t have much to go on, there are a few things that, if my journey ended here, I would want to be immortalized for. I truly believe I excel at and should therefore be remembered for my: wisdom, acceptance, loyalty, belief, but most of all, my creativity.…
A legacy can be described as many things. Some people leave good legacy, but also bad ones. A legacy is the only thing many people remember you by. Many people have the legacy of being a great doctor or a fantastic husband. I would like mine to be about the positive things I did in life.…
A legacy is your reputation, you build it up day by day so when you do leave or die everyone will remember you forever. Great legacies are hard to come by because one slip up here or there you have to start all over again. Sometimes if a slip up is bad enough there is no fixing your legacy. Like most people I hope my legacy will be of importance and make people want to be just like me and follow in my footsteps. There is one man that has strongly preached leaving a great legacy for myself.…
Hi Elton, I really like your thoughts. Yes, writing our legacy will help motivate us as educators, especially on a trying day. The writing of your legacy can also help you see where you are at as a teacher, what things you have accomplished, and what things you need to work on. The legacy we write, will help remind us, why we are doing what we are doing, and that is helping and educating kids. God bless, and best wishes to you.…
As a student I will lead by example, carrying out all of Howard’s core values which will propel me as an alumni to achieve my goals. Through servitude I will aid, through leadership I will inspire, through truth I will give and gain respect, and through excellence I will succeed. I plan to create my own legacy…
Grandfathering is a NFIP rule that was created in order to recognize property owners who carried a policy before flood maps became effective to the correct standards relative to the map at the time of construction. Structures built before the first Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) have and maintain flood insurance policies when new flood maps become effective. Structures built after the FIRM maintain continuous flood insurance coverage. Congress is working on the reauthorization of the policy of grandfathering, specifically when the property is re-mapped into a higher-risk flood zone. The insurance program’s practice of grandfathering premiums – which allows homeowners to continue paying relatively low insurance rates even when FEMA changes…
Everyone has a story and almost everyone wants to leave some sort of a legacy — to be remembered for something meaningful. Our legacy is part of ourselves that, will be left in the hearts and minds of others. Some people leave a positive and inspiring legacy while some people willingly or not, leave a negative one. Nobody wants their existence to be lost to time. And just like everyone I wants to be remembered for the love and kindness I shared that has all become too scarce in today’s world.…
What legacy will one leave behind after all I gone? How will one be remembered? Sometimes we limit our self and minimize our capability. Reading Maya Angelou “Rainbow in The Clouds”, is a great piece of work. Now applying what she wrote to our everyday life will be a great step.…
Ultimately, I would like to continue in the footsteps of…
Since the first day of third grade I've heard over 1,800 morning school bells, attended 45 different classes, and met 5 of my greatest friends. I am proud to say I have attended McKeel Academy for 10 years, and I'm even prouder to say I will be a graduate from McKeel. This school has shaped me in to the person I am today, a person I am truly proud of. First, the legacy I want to leave at McKeel is my sense of dedication and goal setting.…
Leaving a Legacy Abraham Lincoln once said, “In the end, it 's not the years in your life that count. It 's the life in your years.” (Quotes) The quality of a person’s life can be determined by many different components. Some people define their lives on things such as wealth or materialistic items while others base theirs on the experiences they have gone through or the knowledge they have gained over time.…
I’ve always believed that the roads lead to my destiny were shaped through the difficulties and failures I faced. The mistakes I made, the lessons I learned, and the actions I took must be the first brick in my wall of success. A successful future and a fruitful career obviously belong to those who are willing to work hard with strong passion and dare to fail. Thereupon, I am confident that my academic background and my fierce desire will lead me on to the road of my destiny.…
Senior Year My greatest memory so far in my eighteen years of being on this earth is without a doubt my senior year of high school. It was absolutely unforgettable. My senior year as a whole (which was just last year) was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and the happiest I have ever been. When I was a chubby little freshman with glasses I thought to myself that high school would be one of the longest time periods of my life and that four years would feel like forty years. But man was I wrong, high school went by in the blink of an eye.…
