Dearest,
You were the man who sang me to sleep. You were the man who helped me count sheep. You were the man who held me after I was born. You were the man who supported me. You were the man who kept me from killing myself. You were the man who loved me my whole life long. The man who believed in me. The man who held onto me. Daddy. I miss you. You were my best friend. My father who was more like a brother. You taught me to love. You taught me to hold on, to relax, to believe. You helped me to be strong, to heal from broken hearts, to behave. On December 11th, 2015 you took your last breath. You held on for so long. I just want to make you proud. So to this day and everyday forward, I will hold onto my life. I will support others. I will behave.

Smith are two collections of poetry that include poems centered on losing a loved one, with long eulogies written out of respect to those who have passed on. People say that they will always have the memories of those they cherish, and no matter how many years pass and as they grow older, memories of loved ones will stick around to keep those loved ones around. However, the memory of loved ones, especially the parents, may do more for people than just sit there as something to remember them by. As presented in this essay, people can come to a better understanding of who their parents were, based on what they remember of them.…

Dear Mr. Pathman, Thank you so much for taking the time to interview me last week. I was surprised by how much we had in common; not only did we both live on Collins third floor freshman year at Wake, but we also both have a passion for GI research! I appreciate you taking the time to tell me a bit about the medical school's housing system, and I hope that after our conversation, Hit the Bricks will be an event that will promote friendly competition between medical students while also benefitting the Brian Piccolo Cancer Foundation. In addition, it was a pleasure to discuss my love of music and some of the ways in which my world travels with the Philadelphia Boys Choir will impact me as a physician. Thank you again for your time, and…

Donald I watched in jealousy as Hillary stepped up to receive her presidency. I hated that she was the one to win the election, and my disdain for her only grew as she shot an arrogant smile in my direction while giving her thank-you speech. It wasn’t yet Inauguration Day, and there was always a chance that something could happen to her before then, but I still gave up all hope of anything actually changing. If I wanted this presidency, I would have to take it from her cold, dead hands, and I wasn’t willing to endangering my chances in future elections just to beat her this once. So, in order to prevent my future from becoming any more obscure than it already was, I silently watched as the crowd lauded Hillary for her hardwork and dedication during…
