For this assignment, I will be doing the case study on myself. I, Sara, am a freshman at MSUM majoring in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. The content area I am choosing to focus on is psychology, specifically my grand round assignment. For this assignment we are expected to create a profile of a person who has an issue of some sort. We are then to relate the psychology theories to this person and explain how they fit into each.
Prior Understandings

Also, advanced writing is something that will be required for this project that I feel I need more expertise in. My conceptual framework includes learning the differences between each specific theory and being able to tell what stage and/or level my profile should be placed in based off the information given about them. It also includes being able to think critically about the subject area of psychology. Too often, I think of things on a much broader spectrum than they were meant to be. There are many resources available to me that I can use to help combat these problems. The most obvious is my textbook. It is filled with all the technical terms needed for this assignment and even pose deep questions to help get me started on the right track. Another valuable resource is the campus library. In the library reference center, there are grand round examples for me to look at to get a feel of the format of the paper and the transition that are needed to help keep the paper flowing …show more content…
I enjoy bouncing ideas off my peers, getting second and third opinion on my paper. In order for me to fully understand this knowledge, a study buddy may be beneficial for me too. This way, the group work is scaled down to just me and my partner, allowing more time to focus on specific needs of my paper. In class, I enjoy a very relaxed learning environment and learn best when the room feels warm and inviting. This can be reached by turning off the back bank of lights or by closing the shades on the window. To me, a dim classroom atmosphere is where I strive to learn to most. Paper and pencil testing is also helpful if it is in multiple choice form or fill in the blank form. Open ended short answers stress me out and tend to make be “blank out” forgetting
