In this fast pace world, people are being bombarded with information via television, radio, social media, text message and email. They have become very adept at scanning and discarding content that does not seem to interest them. By using some of the following techniques, businesses and marketers will be able to engage the people on their email list in a more efficacious manner.
Some of the most common personalization techniques are:
• Greeting recipients by name, usually the first name, but in certain markets they may be greeted by their first and last name, or by the appropriate prefix and the last name.
• Grouping customers in different persona categories will allow the marketer to provide content and resources that are more appropriate to the specific wants and needs of the recipients. It is important to understand that the more relevant the content, the more responsive and engaged the recipient will be.
• Consider geographical location and time zones. Based on the customer intelligence that has been gathered by the marketer, they will be able to send emails that are released at the proper time to be of best use to the
