ew Recruit,
I would love to thank you for your service, and tell how much I appreciate what you do. Without any of the armed forces protecting us. I wouldn’t have the things I have today. I am a junior in highschool, and I’ve always thought about joining the army, but always in the back of my mind it kinda scares me. So I'm glad we have brave people like you to protect us from harm. My friends dad was over in afghanistan for ten years I think. I always looked up towards him, because I think people that are in the army, are the bravest and strongest people their will ever be. I play basketball, and I might play varsity this year. I am the center which means I grab most of the rebounds. Our team isn't the greatest, but I think we can do very

I am writing to thank you for your service to the United States and wish you a happy Veterans Day. The magnitude of your selflessness and courage is incomprehensible to me, and though these may be trite words, I sincerely mean what I say. I can think of no experience more inherently laudable and worthy of profound respect than serving in the armed forces. What compounds my gratitude of your service specifically is your modesty in discussing your service. Indeed, I believe you mentioned your service only once or twice in class.…

As an American, I believe that America is a breathtaking province. We, as a people, feel safe because there are soldiers willing to defend our nation. I am proud to support these men and women. When saying the American Pledge, “ I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” it makes me proud to live here. We are able to say The Pledge because of soldiers fighting and serving us.…

Husband, I am thinking of you every moment of the day. It is difficult to imagine that someone I love so much has been at war for this long. These past three years have been hard on our daughter and I. The higher authorities are being very difficult, newspapers are publishing information and propaganda is everywhere. The posters make it seem as if it is mandatory to go to war and if you enlist you are not a man but a coward.…

Emily Schild Mrs. Kim Roberts English 4 24 October 2016 Early College Recruiting and Verbal Commitments In recent years, college coaches have been recruiting and extending verbal commitments to elite middle school and early high school student-athletes. According to the official NCAA website, the definition of a verbal commitment is “stating publicly one’s intentions to attend a certain institution, is a non-binding, oral agreement between you and the institution. The only binding nature of the commitment is your word and the institution’s promise” (Recruiting FAQs 1). If this unofficial offer doesn’t need to be honored, why start the recruiting process early?…

Veterans day is coming up, and to honor you with I wanted to write a letter showing my thanks to them. “Veterans Day, which pays tribute to all veterans, living or dead, differs from Memorial Day during which we pay tribute to those who lost their lives in combat.” Veterans are people who work for the military protecting the United States from other countries. Veterans day began after WW1 to honor those who lost their lives during the war (the war ended on november 11 that’s veterans day). From then on every day they still risk their lives protecting our country and our way of life.…

As American troops continue to risk their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, and return home to join the ranks of America’s almost 24 million veterans, the Veterans Day holiday has had a certain immediacy in recent years. Or at least it should. Holidays so easily succumb to linen sales and classic TV marathons, but this is one whose the true meaning of which we really should nevernot forget. Throughout our history, many brave Americans have given their lives in defense of freedom, and many more have demonstrated their willingness to do the same.…

Don’t get me wrong, I was so proud of him, but my heart shattered knowing he was thousands of miles away from me fighting for our country. At the end of the letter I would write them telling them how if I would refused to go into the war and if I did I wouldn’t follow orders, I would understand that for not obeying orders I would probably be hated or I would be killed by friendly fire or because I was not obeying the orders I was given. A lot of people in my squadron might grow to hate me and I could potentially cause my fellow soldiers to lose their…
