Representatives of the I-75 Express Lanes Project Construction team met with the Evy Garcia (EG) to discuss her concerns regarding the increase presence of bugs, insects, snakes and iguanas in the back of her property.
EG stated the insect and reptile problem has occurred due to construction activities in the area, and that because of this infestation she has not been able to watch her grandson. EG demanded to know what the department planned to do about this problem. Ed Perez (EP) advised EG she would need to contact animal control regarding the infestation. EG stated she called animal control and was advised that they do not pickup reptiles and that she would have to pay someone. EG then stated if the department does nothing she will call her local State Representatives. EP stated he

EP stated the department is still discussing the installation of the fence. AC then stated she did not want the chain link fence and would rather have nothing. EP advised if they do not want the fence they must let the department know. EG stated she wanted the fence because she believes it will stop people from coming onto her property. EG then asked how far will the wall be from her property. EP stated six inches away. EP also explained the matter was still being discussed by the department. EG then stated her only concern with the chain link fence was the trash that would possibly accumulate behind her home due to people littering. EP restated the property behind her home would be maintained by the department.

MM asked EG if she was contacted regarding her gate in the rear. MM stated the gate needs to be closed off. EG stated she was not contacted and that she never opens the gate. MM stated the gate would still need to be blocked off and that she could do it or the department could. EG stated the department could do
