Throughout the history of mankind, there has been an ongoing debate triggered by the unanswered question, “How did the universe and everything in it come to be?” There have been several theories over the years, the two most encouraged being Creationism and Evolutionism. On the first day of this creation period, God spoke light and darkness into existence, made all that was in outer space, including the heavens and the galaxies (Holy Bible, Gen. 1:1-5). On the second day, He made the sky and atmosphere of the earth (Holy Bible, Gen. 1:6-8). The next day, God made the land and water upon the earth, and all kinds of plant life in it (Holy Bible, Gen. 1:9-13). The next day, He created the stars and heavenly bodies; two of these bodies, the sun and the moon, are made in relation to the Earth, so they may help man keep a track of time (Holy Bible, Gen. 1:14-19). After that day, God made every creature in the ocean, as well as every bird that flew in the sky (Holy Bible, Gen. 1:20-23). On the sixth day, He created every animal that he did not on day five, including all land animals and insects; He gave all the animals he made the ability to reproduce, so they could perpetuate their species (Holy Bible, Gen. 1:24-31).
God also created Adam, the first man, on the sixth day. He especially made Adam in His image, and gave all of mankind dominance and authority over animals. He later gave Adam a partner, Eve, as Adam grew lonely, and needed a significant other. He saw all of the work he had accomplished, and said that all was good.
