Discussion 1 The introduction of evolution and creationism in my household can be debatable. My first exposure to the idea of evolution or evolution as a topic was in church. Growing up in a strongly religious and faith based home the idea of humanity beginning through the whole idea of evolution was shunned. My parents were very open to informing us on what they felt we were of age to know but the idea of evolution always resulted in the same answer and ideology: “ God created Heaven and Earth.” my exposed to a partial view of evolution in my church was a result of the teaching that evolution is a contradiction to the word of God in the Bible, that one cannot believe in evolution in a scientific realm as well as God, and that evolution is the genesis of an atheistic philosophy with the intention to corrupt the mindset of young individuals. In order words it’s “an invention of the devil”. Any information I received over evolution from Sunday teachings and church sermons originated from bible ministering creationists and not from evolutionary scientists. …show more content…
I am able as an individual to be able to separate my faith from science and realize that my education or my studies doesn’t have to influence my beliefs. It was difficult growing up I can remember as a youngster in middle school and high school hearing topics of evolution in natural science classes and thinking my teachers were corrupt but overtime my perception has definitely changed. What I am most eager to learn about through this course on Evolution is the scientific theory behind it. I want to gain a scientific understand to the theories and studies that make the subject of evolution so
