So now the big man or guys down low in the paint play different. In the NBA the big man or post players were very physical and not afraid at all to bump and or slam other guys down on the opposing team (Associated Press). Now big men play less physical (Deckard, Dave). When the ball is in the post the players now pass it out more often or try to use a good move to get by the defense to the rim. Before this, guys would shoot over them, which they can also do now, but usually they just use their body and get the guy out-of-the-way or just drive right through them. Not all post players just stay in the paint either. They go and set screens and some of the post players now actually have a pretty decent jump shot. Also, players a while ago used to be real big guys like Shaq, a big, tall, and muscular giant. Now some post players are pretty tall, but no one is as large, tall, and muscular like a lot of the post player in the 50s-2000 (Epstein, …show more content…
The NBA free agency has changed majorly over the years. Over the years it has made things different. The NBA free agency is where players get offers from different teams when their current contract is over. A lot of the time in the 1900s NBA players would just stay with one team or if your really good you would change teams so you can win a championship. In today's NBA players either stay with their team, go where they can get the most money, go where they can win a championship, or if your really good you can go wherever and make really good money. LeBron or The King is going to be a free agent this year. He can stay in Cleveland, OH with the Cleveland Cavaliers or he can go any organization he wants to play for. In the free agency Some of these younger guys can be a gamble. In the 1900s NBA it was $100 thousand maybe lost, wasted, or maybe a bad year but today, if you get a couple young guys, there may be hundreds of millions dollars on the line or possible wasted if they get injured or get suspended for breaking laws or rules(Deckard, Dave). In the NBA today sometimes teams can’t even afford to bring some of their own players back or even lose an all-star player on the team because they can’t offer that much money or other organization. The difference is all because of reason, value, and money (Deckard,
